Anushka wasn't interested in becoming an actor, but she was interested in becoming a model or reporter. Anushka moved to Mumbai following her graduation and began her studies at Elite Model Management, and was groomed by fashion consultant Prasad Bidapa. Anushka began modelling in 2017 for Wendell Rodricks Les Vamps Show. She was also selected to represent the collection Spring Summer 2007, by Rodricks. Anushka has worked on several companies since making her debut a model at Lakme Fashion Week. She's been involved in campaigns for Fiat Palio, Silk & Shine Whisper Nathella Jewelry, as well as Fiat Palio. Anushka Sharma, along with her modeling career, enrolled in an acting academy and began auditioning for film roles. Anushka performed alongside Shahid Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das Shahid Kapoor, Vir Das and Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". The film was met with mixed receptions. Anushka appeared in a film known as Band Baaja Baraat starring Ranveer, where she played the role of a middle-class who starts her wedding planning business. The movie received positive reviews and proved to be an overnight success. Anushka's contract for three films at Yash Raj Films ended with Band Baaja Baraat.
