Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best well-known for her character of detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won the Emmy Award. Her other credits include her roles in the drama All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. She was born as the only child to a top executive from the United Auto Workers and a household worker, Delaney had a family of four brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become an official in the courtroom. However, after graduating from high school, and moving to New York in the 1980s then she started modeling. In her teens her first appearance as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash with numerous television films and dramas. Her career hasn't been successful or happy personal life. The talented actress was afflicted with addiction issues in the past and had two marriages that failed. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the only child that she had.
